Top Hat Monocle Adds Two New Executives, Ralf Riekers and Malgosia Green

Toronto’s Top Hat Monocle today announced the appointment of two new members of its executive team.

The Canadian startup, a provider of technology-based classroom and homework innovations, brought on board SaaS industry veteran Ralf Riekers as chief financial officer and educational industry executive Malgosia Green as chief product officer.

Top Hat Monocle says Riekers will use his experience to manage relationships with venture capitalists, handle the company’s finances and improve its back-end processes, while Green will hold responsibility for the company’s entire product road map and will work closely with the development, account management, and marketing teams.

“I’m very pleased to welcome both Ralf and Malgosia to our executive team, moves that will help us to capture an even larger share of the classroom market,” said Mike Silagadze, co-founder and chief executive officer of Top Hat Monocle.

“Ralf is someone who doesn’t just know accounting, but has the HR, operation and systems experience that will help us to improve the back office side of the company, making sure all departments have the resources they need,” he continued. “Malgosia is an experienced leader and product marketing expert, and her previous experience founding and running an online marketing firm in the higher education space will prove invaluable.”

Riekers was the first employee at Eloqua, a marketing automation SaaS provider that he guided through an IPO and recent acquisition by Oracle. In 2007 Green founded and operated as the CEO of Savvica, an India-based firm that offered online marketing services for educational institutions that guides students in India and the US to find the right schools to meet their needs.

“Top Hat Monocle is a fast-growing and disruptive company and I want to use my expertise to help it grow even faster and move to the next level in market reach and revenues,” noted Riekers.

“I look forward to aggressively marketing Top Hat Monocle while driving innovation with the product development team so we can ensure our service remains the industry standard,” added Green.
