Apple Music Celebrates Canada 150 with Top Songs of All Time
As Canada prepares to celebrate its 150th birthday next month, Apple Music has commemorated the nation’s contribution to music by releasing the top 150 Canadian songs of all time.
“Music is one of the purest expressions of life,” says Douglas Coupland, whose unique interpretations of Emily Carr and the Group of Seven appear throughout Apple Music’s playlists. “To me, these works evoke Canada as I’ve experienced it through art, from kindergarten onward and I’m bringing ideas from past and propelling then into the future.”
Obvious Canadian music icons including rapper Drake and popstar Justin Bieber, but Apple’s playlists includes a broad range of artists, from the mysterious, brooding Allan Rayman to the helplessly catchy Partynextdoor.
