BDO Canada Announces 2018 Connecting with Venture Capitalists Events

A new way for businesses to connect with investors is coming to some of Canada’s biggest cities.

BDO Canada has announced they are hosting Connecting with Venture Capitalists events in Toronto, Vancouver, Ottawa, and Halifax in March. Over 100 entrepreneurs are expected to pitch throughout the four cities’ events. This is the third time BDO Canada has hosted the series.

In Toronto and Vancouver, the events will be hosted in a two-day format at the respective cities’ BranStation campuses.  A networking launch party will happen on March 7 in each city, offering tech entrepreneurs the opportunity to connect with peers and get an upper hand on their pitch.

The following day, March 8, will see face to face investor pitch events in Toronto and Vancouver. BDO will facilitate opportunities for 10 to 12 tech companies pitch to a select group of venture capitalists.

The Ottawa and Halifax events will be a similar format with Ottawa taking place on March 20/21 and the Halifax following on March 28/29.

Venture capital investment has grown in Canada for the past seven years, and BDO believes the trend is a direct reflection of the strong innovation and tech talent in the Canadian ecosystem.

Interested applicants must apply to pitch and concisely convey their business strategy. They must also list members of the management team, active markets, buyer profiles, and more information to give VCs a glimpse into what the business is all about. The final pitches will last 15 minutes, including a five-minute Q&A period.
