BlackBerry Ensures Day Zero Support for iOS 11
When a company like Apple announces updated software and new features, companies around the world have to scramble to keep up with innovation, and even more importantly, security. BlackBerry is making sure they will be right on track with the new release of Apple’s iOS 11.
The Waterloo-based BlackBerry has announced that their entire BlackBerry Enterprise Mobility Suite has been updated to support the release of Apple’s iOS 11, which launches on September 19 for immediate download.
This means that specifically for IT departments or those who monitor security and privacy, BlackBerry has made it simple to support iOS 11’s new user features and enterprise capabilities. They have done so by ensuring that all essential BlackBerry apps that companies may rely on to secure the work of their employees using iOS are immediately updated in the app store and can be downloaded right now. For some enterprise environments that allow it, end-users will find that the enterprise mobility apps have already been updated.
Security is always a huge concern for both small and massive companies, and BlackBerry’s day-zero preparation means productivity will not suffer and users can stop worrying about any kind of gap in protection that sometimes comes with large software updates. The company has taken extra steps to ensure their apps are compatible with new offerings from Apple and that workflows will be secure and uninterrupted.
“On day zero, we are supporting iOS 11 with our world class containerization, rich app-specific policies, superior file security, enterprise-class productivity, and our diverse, flexible solutions portfolio, highlighting our leadership in enterprise mobility,” BlackBerry wrote in a release.
To be proactive, the company recommends you download the latest version of all apps you may have (including those client ones listed above) and communicate to your team the importance of using the latest version of an app. If you’re on the IT side of things, just make sure you are using the newest version of the BlackBerry UEM.
BlackBerry has won several awards in the enterprise security space, including being a leader in Gartner’s EMM Magic Quadrant for two consecutive years and receiving the highest score in every use-case for Gartner’s Critical Capabilities for High-Security Mobile Management.
