BVF08: Tribal Nova Cashs in on Kids

Montreal’s Tribal Nova was up next at the Banff Venture Forum and CEO Pierre Le Lann described why the company has been successful since being founded in 2002. Tribal Nova develops game and video-on-demand products and services for children aged 3 to 12 years old based on popular television series and cartoon characters.

As the father of a toddler, I was instantly impressed with their incredibly very strong partnership wins. In addition to working with popular franchises My Friend Rabbit, Caillou, and Toopy & Binoo, Tribal Nova is responsible for PBS Kids Play! – an Internet-based subscription service designed to help children ages 3 to 6 learn through interactive play. PBS Kids Play!’s character roster spans generations with everyone from Curious George, Mister Rogers, and the Berenstain Bears.

Tribal Nova continues to develop strategic business partnerships with major players in the media and entertainment world in North America as well as Europe including CBC, Télé-Québec, Orange France Telecom, AOL, and Bell Sympatico.

Tribal Nova’s has raised $4.3 Million in capital to date led by DHX Media Inc. and is forecasting revenue of $4.2 Million in 2008.
