Cavirtex has launched six new bitcoin automatic teller machines, also referred to as BTMs, in Toronto. The Bitcoin exchange and service provider also plans to launch four more across Canada.
The Calgary-born Cavirtex claims Canada now has more BTMs than anywhere else on the planet. Future BTM locations will include Vancouver, Niagara, Ottawa and Halifax. They will be capable of buying and selling up to $3,000 worth of Bitcoin in the Canadian marketplace.
“Launching these bitcoin teller machines in Canada is a significant milestone that will let anyone with a cellphone and cash buy Bitcoins instantly,” says Joseph David, CEO of CAVIRTEX.
The BTMs will be located at Gateway Newstand locations. “We have been in business for 30 years and even though we are well established, it is important to stay current,” says Terry Samuels, Vice President Gateway Newstands.
Cavirtex has facilitated more than $90 million in bitcoin trading.
