Canada Post and OSF Global Services Join Forces to Advance E-commerce in Canada
Canada Post this morning revealed that it has entered into an agreement with IT professional services provider OSF Global Services. The partnership aims to create “a superior online shopping experience” by improving shipping, delivery and returns.
As part of the agreement, OSF will develop an interface that “seamlessly and cost-effectively” integrates Canada Post’s web services into the Demandware Commerce platform. The OSF Integrator for Demandware and Canada Post is a plug-in that will provide Demandware-based retailers with quick and efficient access to Canada Post’s unparalleled retail network and customer-centric services.
“Our latest collaboration shows that Canada Post is committed to developing e-commerce in Canada,” says René Desmarais, Senior Vice-President, Parcels at Canada Post. “By creating relationships with all players in the digital space, including IT experts, we are enabling retailers to improve the end-to-end online shopping experience and better satisfy their customers.”
Customers who shop on Demandware-based merchant sites will benefit from the increased choice, transparency and convenience offered by Canada Post’s suite of e-commerce features, the company says, which includes a range of shipping, delivery, tracking and easy return options.
“E-commerce retailers need powerful solutions that allow them to maximize shipping convenience for their customers,” added Gerard Szatvanyi, President and CEO of OSF Global Services. “OSF Integrator for Demandware and Canada Post will deliver the speed, accuracy and convenience demanded by online retailers and shoppers in the fast-growing Canadian e-commerce market.”
Fatures of the OSF Global Services collaboration include the ability to set accurate customer expectations with precise expected delivery dates; convenient delivery options, including delivery to the Canadian post office of choice; and tracking orders directly from the merchant’s online store, according to Canada Post.
