Canadian Startup Frank & Oak Raises $5 Million to Create Hassle-free Online Shopping for Men

Canadian startup Frank & Oak, which launched in February, has raised $5 million from Canadian and US investors, including Rho Ventures and Real Ventures Canada. Lightbank led the round.

Frank & Oak is an online retail startup that spun out of Modasuite, which was a similar business targeting a different demographic that shut down earlier this year.

The company provides a personalized shopping experience for men: dudes visit the site, enter their clothing preferences, and once a month they get an email newsletter with a list of items for sale, curated to their interests. The site features original clothing and accessories. There is also free shipping (both ways) and easy returns.

Frank & Oak says that it has experienced double-digit, month-over-month growth opening its (virtual) doors in February.
