Cascadia Summit Announces 16 Startups to Pitch for Investment

Today Launch Academy announced the 16 startups that will pitch at the Cascadia Summit on Friday, November 21st.

Cascadia Summit is Launch Academy’s “premiere event showcasing the most promising startups from Western Canada.”

Part of Startup Week Vancouver along with the Techvibes Tech Fest, the Cascadia Summit takes place at the Telus World of Science and promises to bring together investors, entrepreneurs, and corporate execs.

According to Launch Academy, more than 100 applications were evaluated by a selection committee of investors and entrepreneurs from both Canada and the US. The finalists will present to an panel of judges that includes Dafina Toncheva from US Venture Partners, Sumeet Jain from Intel Capital, Bill Bryant from Draper Fisher Jurvetson, and Alireza Masrour from Plug and Play Ventures.

Among the up and coming startups that will be pitching are Techvibes 20 alumni Control Mobile and VEC Startup Alley participants CommandWear and KeyCafe. Check out the complete list online.

The event will also include a panel discussion on investment trends, as well as keynote speeches from Vancouver’s mayor (to be determined) and Minister of Technology Andrew Wilkinson. Additionally, Plug and Play Ventures will be investing in the top startups from the pitch contest.
