Expedia Canada recently unveiled its latest update to its mobile app, which now has the ability to book rental cars and local activities in destinations around the world, complementing the app’s selection of flights and hotels.

“We’ve had many exciting technology advancements at Expedia.ca this year,” said Sean Shannon, Managing Director of Expedia’s brand in Canada.

With the newest additions to the Expedia app, customers can now choose from 26 car rental suppliers globally and book through the app, plus over 10,000 activities in more than 90 destinations.

“Our aim is to simplify the mobile experience so that whether you’ve spent months planning your trip or are booking on-the-fly, the Expedia app puts all of the features you need to book right at your fingertips,” Shannon said.

Expedia also has an app for Apple Watch.

Video submission contests are all the rage these days and Toronto-based Expedia.ca is jumping on the bandwagon.

Beginning today until October 24, Canadians can visit www.lifechangingtravel.ca to upload a short video describing their ultimate life-changing travel experience for a chance to take their desired trip this fall/winter, courtesy of Expedia.ca.

In the case of Expedia.ca, they won’t be leaving it to chance and let site visitors to pick a winner – a panel of expert judges will evaluate all video submissions based on whether the proposed trip enables self-discovery, helps to overcome adversity and/or makes a difference in the world. Three lucky winners will be selected and contacted in late October.
