In Latest Copycat Move, Instagram Adds Stickers to Stories

Instagram continues adding similarities to Snapchat. The latest update from the social network brings stickers to Stories, similar to the filters available for Snapchat Stories.

“No matter where you are or what you’re up to, you can add context to your story with stickers,” Instagram says. “After you’ve taken a photo or video, you’ll see a new stickers button next to the text and drawing tools.”

Some stickers are location-based… not unlike how some Snap filters are location-based. Instagram Stories counted 100 million daily users within two months of launching, which means Instagram’s continual addition of Snap-like features could threaten the smaller company, especially knowing Insta has the breadth of Facebook behind it.

Instagram still lacks those annoying selfie masks Snapchat is infamous for. But at this point we’d be downright shocked if Instagram didn’t launch that type of feature next year.
