Kiwi.ai Launches Artificial Intelligence to Help People Quit Smoking

Kiwi.ai, which specializes in motion recognition software, believes its product can help smartwatch owners quit smoking.

The Toronto startup’s app, Cue, is “magical,” according to CEO Ali Nawab.

“Cue helped me reduce smoking by 50% in the first week,” he claims.

Cue is software for a smartwatch, either Android or iOS. The app automatically tracks when and where users smoke, and users collect points for waiting to smoke, gradually adding time between cigarettes. The app uses machine learning algorithms to adjust the gamification to each individual user.

Nawab adds that Kiwi is seeking participants for a global market study to further test its hypothesis that AI software can help users quit smoking.

“We made Cue to be the Air Miles for health, starting with helping people quit smoking,” says founder John David Chibuk.
