Call it iCommerce: 80% of All M-Commerce Occurs on iOS Devices
Now that smartphones and tablets are ubiquitous, people are getting more comfortable with performing a wider array of tasks on their tiny portable computers. One such activity is shopping.
Mobile commerce is gaining popularity at a remarkable pace. This Christmas, a quarter of Canadians are expected to make purchases via mobile devices. Next holiday season, that percent could reach 43%.
But you could almost call it iCommerce. That’s because virtually all spending done on tablets is via an iPad. Android tablets account for just 5% of sales. Overall, iOS accounts for 80% of e-commerce.
