MyStops Launches in the Apple App Store

MyStops, an transit planner for the iPhone launched in the iPhone App Store yesterday.  Developed by the local Edmonton company Gray Scale Apps, MyStops was originally previewed at DemoCampEdmonton8 this past month.

MyStops uses a GPS locating system to find the nearest transit stops, and pull scheduled pick-up times. It’s is built for speed and simplicity, and it allows you to create “cards” that have bus route information determined by your GPS location, bus stop number or address.  The App pulls data from the open data from the ETS and shows when the next bus or LRT will be showing up. Users can save their frequently used  “cards” that can be then pulled up for quick reference at any time- even when the device is not connected to the net. This makes it handy if you are using MyStops on an iPod touch.

The App currently only supports the Edmonton Transit System currently, but plans to roll out to 40 more cities in the U.S. and Canada. MyStops costs $.99 and can be purchased through the App Store
