Ottawa’s ShipTrack Hits One Million Weekly Shipments
ShipTrack is proving that its cloud transportation tracking system is a hit.
The Ottawa-based company has reached a new milestone of one million shipments tracked per week, as well as seeing daily shipments hit an all-time high.
“With consumer and industry demands rapidly increasing, ShipTrack provides the tools necessary for these organizations to deliver on the promise they’ve made to their customers,” said Brock Gourlay, president at ShipTrack, in a statement.
ShipTrack helps transportation and retail companies locate, track and communicate information about products moving throughout their supply chain. The global track and trace delivery solution provides real-time truck location information to a customer and features like route optimization and advanced scheduling.
The company attributes the steady growth of e-commerce channels and the increasing consumer demand for tracking the location of online purchases for why innovative solutions like ShipTrack have taken off.
“Transportation firms are under increasing pressure to accommodate the demands of omnichannel retailers,” Gourlay said.
“The increasing risk of fines for late deliveries, shrinking margins for transportation companies, and the requirement to guarantee delivery times to consumers creates an increasing need for our solutions. Legacy solutions and paper don’t work in today’s world,” he said.
ShipTrack was spun out of Ottawa’s PiiComm in 2013.
