Analysis

Restaurant kiosk provider, Presto hopes its free To-Go Kiosk offer will ease the financial strain and keep customers safe during the coronavirus outbreak.

“At this time of national emergency, we would like to offer our Presto Kiosk product to you absolutely free. This product is designed to help you take To-Go orders while offering customers complete peace of mind by minimizing human contact,” the company said in a release

The kiosks are a standalone device that allows guests to browse, order, and pay without any human contact, something governments have said is critical to minimizing the spread of the virus.

In addition to free terminals, the company will also be waiving all start-up fees and be providing the services without any contractual obligations. Presto is able to have restaurants up and running in a matter of days.

With positive COVID-19 numbers growing daily, many companies are stepping up to offer their services to help the heavily affected restaurant industry. FutureProof Retail is donating its mobile checkout technology to grocery stores, pharmacies, and supermarkets who need it while Yelp has announced a $25 million relief plan to support local businesses in need by waiving advertising fees.
