Read Books With Others Cross-Device in Real-Time via New Mobile App, Synaptop Library
Toronto’s Synaptop has launched Synaptop Library, a mobile app that enables users to read books together in real-time on different devices. The Library allows one person to lead a reading. When that person flips a page, the page is flipped for everyone who is following his reading. This removes distance-barriers in a new and unique way with potential uses in both personal and professional applications.
Synaptop Library allow facilitates multi-tasking, enabling video and text chat to occur in reading mode. As well, friends can view each others’ libraries, adding an additional social layer. And books aren’t the only thing compatible with Library—PDFs work too.
Synaptop, less than a year old, is a virtual computer in the cloud. It allows users to store files and run apps. Its mission is “to provide leading-edge solutions to help people interact seamlessly and use technology effortlessly for work, study, and play.” The startup has other apps, including Synaphone, vMsg, and Theatre.
