Read Local: Putting Canadian Literature on the Map

In February Techvibes reported that 49th Shelf was giving Canadian books a well-deserved boost.

Thanks to a sponsorship from and funded by the Ontario Media Development Corporation and the Department of Canadian Heritage, the book community website launched their Read Local Map last week.

It’s the biggest map of Canadian books ever created and they need your help:

Participate in a Special Summer Read Local theme (Eat Your Way Across Canada, anyone?), add a favourite fiction title, or put your own town on the map by adding a book either set there or about it. If you want to hold your fire till you have an inspiration, just come check it out and browse all the awesome books that are already dotting this big nation of ours.

49th Shelf was developed in Vancouver by Mugo and has an editorial team in Toronto.
