TEDx Conference Returns to Toronto This October

A record-setting olympian, Forbes-recognized entrepreneur and Noble Peace Prize winner will take the stage at TEDxToronto this October at Toronto’s Evergreen Brick Works—and for the first time the public can purchase tickets directly to the event.

The TEDx events are local, self-organized versions of the famed TED conferences that feature short, inspiring talks. Toronto is hosting its ninth annual TED-like conference on Friday October 27, 2017 at Toronto’s Evergreen Brick Works.

TEDxToronto revealed three more speakers who are delivering powerful talks next month: Penny Oleksiak, Canada’s youngest Olympic gold-medalist; Satish Kanwar, Shopify’s VP of product; and Linda Mortsch, climate scientist and Nobel Peace Prize co-recipient.

The three join a growing list of speakers including Nanoleaf CEO Gimmy Chu, actor and podcast host Jeremie Saunders, and filmmaker Michelle Latimer.

Tickets for TEDxToronto are on sale to the public now. This year, the conference removed its ticket application process to make the event more inclusive.
