Test Your Street Fighter Mettle at the Northern Arena Knockout Circuit
The Northern Arena Knockout 2017 Circuit has officially been announced, with finals taking place from September 15 to 17 at Bell Media Studios in Toronto.
Northern Arena is Canada’s largest esports organizer. They are partnering with Bell Media, the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) and some of the country’s best and brightest gaming community members to provide rising talent with the opportunity to compete and play with the most talented Street Fighter V players in the world.
Northern Arena is working closely with smaller fighting game community events across the country and holding qualifying events in Hamilton, Toronto and Montreal. Eight total qualifiers from these events will join eight other qualifiers from smaller community events and play at the Northern Arena CNE Open in August for a $5,000 prize pool.
From there, only four players will move onto the finals, where they will meet 12 seasoned professionals and duke it out for a share of the $30,000 prize pool.
The tournament is designed to give up and coming players a chance to play with the best in the game and experience a tournament setting they may not have had access to before. Community-driven growth and engagement is at the core of the Knockout 2017 Circuit as players with high skill but little to no experience in a professional setting are encouraged to come out.
If you want to test your Street Fighter V skills and see if your Ryu has got what it takes, the Montreal qualifiers are on August 1, 8, 15 and 22 at Mixed Visual Arts. Toronto’s qualifiers happen on August 2, 9, 16 and 23 at Meltdown eSports Bar and Hamilton’s go down August 3, 10, 17 and 24 at 1UP Games.
