This Drone Startup is Flying into the Medical Market

Drone Delivery Canada has entered into a partnership with Peel Regional Paramedic Services to develop a first-of-a-kind Automatic External Defibrillator delivery by drone program for the Region of Peel in Southern Ontario.

“We are delighted to be working with the Region of Peel,” said Tony Di Benedetto, CEO of Drone Delivery Canada.

The Toronto-based drone company will work directly with Peel Regional Paramedic Services to design, prototype and test an AED drone delivery solution using its logistic platform.

“We are the only drone delivery company in Canada to successfully test and achieve Beyond Visual Line of Sight testing,” noted Di Benedetto. “With this achievement, now, more than ever, we are ready to explore how our technology could augment Peel Regional Paramedic Services’ AED program.”

The Region of Peel works with residents and partners to foster a healthy community for 1.4 million people and 143,000 businesses in the cities of Brampton and Mississauga and the Town of Caledon. At peak times, paramedics in 55 ambulances and eight Rapid Response Units cover 1,225 square kilometers in Peel.

“We are focusing on multiple business verticals that include government and large multinational companies,” added Di Benedetto. “This is not only game changing for us but also for our customers as end users of our proprietary drone delivery platform as we move closer to commercialization and licensing with a broad spectrum of users.”
