Toronto’s Jugnoo Launches All-in-One Social Marketing and Engagement Solution
Canada has become a hotbed for the development of social media marketing, monitoring, and analytics platforms like Vancouver’s HootSuite, New Brunswick’s Radian6, and Toronto’s Syncapse and Sysomos. It looks like we can now add another Canadian business to the list.
Last month, Toronto-based startup Jugnoo, an internet media technology company, soft-launched a free all-in-one marketing and engagement platform called JugnooMe. It gives both consumers and businesses the tools and services they need to stand out on the social web. The product has been in Beta since November 2011 and ties in-depth social media monitoring with analytics to measure results.
Jugnoo, pronounced “joog-noo,” means “firefly” in Sanskrit, symbolizing “light from within.” The company intends to level the playing field for the benefit of all businesses. “Our goal is to make the web simple, accessible and monetizable,” says Danny Brown, Director of Retention and Social Media at Jugnoo and a twenty-year marketing industry veteran.
The company will initially make money via online advertising within the JugnooMe dashboard and via a social plugin that is installed on their customers’ websites. Premium models will be offered in the future, based on user needs.
Jugnoo’s free solutions provide members with access to effective social web technology. The JugnooMe team is working hard to educate users on how to make an impact by sharing social media best practices and insights. As a result, the JugnooMe blog has already seen significant growth in readership since launch.
“People are realizing the ROI on social media fueled relationships is the driving factor for online marketing. Jugnoo now allows you to track all of your online interactions from start to finish. The user interface is intuitive yet friendly. The only thing I like better than their nifty self-help videos is their online support. There is now a true, social CRM that is worth using. Online marketers are breathing communal sighs of relief across the globe—thanks Jugnoo,” says Justin Brackett, VP of Marketing at BizChangerZ and an early adopter of Jugnoo.
To start, the company is targeting small businesses and key industry verticals, like real estate, which rely heavily on social media to grow their business.
“When I first started in the business, there were no fax machines, very few personal computers and we used typewriters to write offers. Now with the advancement of forward thinking companies and organizations like JugnooMe, I have the thrilling opportunity to hear about new innovations that can help me better service my clients,” says Chris Sohar of Remax Realty.
Jugnoo now employs 103 employees globally, with 73 in the Toronto office, and will hire even more people this year. The company has already attracted and hired many social media entrepreneurs and industry veterans, like Julie Tyios, who managed her own digital marketing business in Toronto for 10 years.
“When I met with the Jugnoo team, I was so inspired by what they were doing that I closed down my small business so that I could join them,” says Tyios who is now Senior Manager, Retention and Social Media at Jugnoo.
Mohammed Aamir, Jugnoo’s founder, has been spearheading startups for over 16 years and has headed a number of successes, including Octanewave, a pioneering carrier mobile content delivery platform; Inlogic, a pioneering Internet content delivery platform; and Objectel, a highly recognized networking leader, and winner of an IEEE architecture award. He recently secured a seed round of funding to start Jugnoo and has also put in some of his own money to ensure its success.
Jugnoo’s all-in-one social marketing platform is just the start for Aamir’s strategy. His company is developing a number of new technologies to socially empower people. Look out for Jugnoo’s new iPhone app, called UnoMomento, which is launching soon, followed by an Android app in the near future.
