Vancouver’s Traction Conference Brings Silicon Valley Experts North
Some of tech’s heavyweights will descend upon Vancouver this summer to talk about what it means to grow a business.
The Traction Conference has announced its finalized lineup of speakers and presenters and it features a slew of executives from some of the biggest tech companies in North America. The conference is presented by Launch Academy and Boast Capital and takes place on August 8 and 9 at the JW Marriott Parq Hotel and Casino in Vancouver.
Some of the big name speakers this year are Chris Slowe, the CTO of Reddit; Dholakia Sameer, the CEO of SendGrid; Dave Pickles, founder of The Trade Desk; and Jeetu Patel, the CPO of Box.
Both SendGrid and The Trade Desk both went public to the tune of multi-billion dollar valuations.
The theme for this year’s Traction Conference is Scaling Up, which means all of the speakers will touch on how they were able to take their companies from the idea stage all the way to $500 million-plus valuations and exits, IPOs and acquisitions. By bringing in expertise in HR, operations, product, engineering and more, Traction’s slate of guests can help every kind of founder and employee learn what it means to scale.
“We couldn’t be more excited to host world-renowned leaders at this year’s conference,” said Ray Walia, co-founder of Traction Conf. “This is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity to learn from the best of the best, and our speakers and their collective wisdom will make you rethink the way you grow your business.”
Other speakers at Traction include Leah Busque, founder of TaskRabbit; Sarah Jones Simmer, COO of Bumble; Max Lytvyn, founder of Grammarly; and Mike Mcderment, CEO of Freshbooks.
Some of the discussions at Traction include “How to Build & Scale a $3.5 Billion Rocketship” and “A Bootstrapper’s Guide to $500 Million in Revenue.”
Traction is one of the premier conferences to have a chance to connect and speak with Silicon Valley talent without leaving Canada.
