Vancouver’s CityMax.com Celebrates Small Business Month

It’s small business month in Vancouver and since CityMax.com is celebrating the small business entrepreneur in Vancouver, I thought I’d catch up with the Chief Evangelist and Town Crier for the group, Patrick Lok and Dean Gagnon to see what they’ve been up to for the past 10 years.

Now at 1 Alexander in Gastown, CityMax.com, a website builder for small businesses, freelancers and entrepreneurs has helped more than 250,000 small businesses achieve success online. They not only make it affordable to build your own website, but also teach you the how-to’s for getting better SEO and also how to make more money by optimizing the content.

Since May, the company has grown 50%, something Dean Gagnon says could largerly be attributed to the state of the economy, as more and more people are getting into having a hobby business on the side to make more money.  For example, for only $20 a month you can have your own website build from hundreds of templates, but then you have the power to change the content as you like, without extra costs. Patrick Lok and Gagnon both agree that the main difference in between them and other website building companies includes not only the monetary cost difference, but also the education and extra help that they provide along the way.

With that being said, if you feel like meeting the team or just to celebrate the small business entrepreneur in Vancouver, come out to the first annual Spirit Day to celebrate the small business held at CityMax’s HQ in Gastown.  The meet-and-get inspired by other entrepreneurs and small business owners takes place at CityHall otherwise known as HQ in Gastown (#313 – 1 Alexander St) on October 21st, 2009 from 4:30pm to 7:00pm. RSVP to Spirit Day and make sure to tweet #citymax the next time you log into Twitter for your chance to win a $10,000 small business makeover package.
