Vena Solutions Appoints Shawn Cadeau to CEO as Don Mal Steps Away
Vena Solutions is pulling back the curtain on a CEO appointment almost two years in the making.
The Toronto-based company has announced that current chief operations officer Shawn Cadeau will become the new CEO as co-founder Don Mal steps away from the role, Mal will continue working with Vena as an ambassador and advisor.
“Shawn has proven himself as the obvious choice to lead Vena moving forward, consistently driving industry-leading customer satisfaction, exceeding growth targets and bringing a culture of operational excellence to the departments he led as CRO and COO,” said Mal. “I look forward to supporting him in his role as CEO, and seeing Vena continue its growth as an innovative industry leader.”
Cadeau will take over as CEO starting June 1. This move comes after 18 months of transition planning, and Cadeau will continue to work closely with Mal to make sure a strong sense of leadership remains for investors and customers.
“I am honored to take leadership of Vena as CEO as we enter our next phase of corporate growth,” said Cadeau. “Our success lies in the robustness of our technology used by customers worldwide, our amazing, world-class team and our shared passion for customer success. We are at an exciting moment in the company’s history, and I look forward to steering it toward continued success.”
Under Mal, Vena experienced triple-digit growth over the past five years. Cadeau will continue to expand on that growth and look to empower more finance professionals in the market.
Cadeau joined Vena as the chief revenue officer in January 2017 and led the sales and marketing teams. He was promoted to COO in September and began to oversee product development. Before Vena, Cadeau worked as the CMO of FreshBooks.
There’s no doubt that Cadeau will look to enforce the six values that Vena knows leads to record growth.
Vena is a company with more than 200 employees that helps medium and large-sized businesses manage budgeting and revenue forecasting. They use a database approach combined with a smooth workflow to create cloud-based corporate performance management solutions.
