Global List Celebrates 100 Cleantech Companies Poised to Make Market Impact

The 8th edition of the Global Cleantech 100 has been released this week following 9,000 nominations and input from an expert panel.

“These companies represent the most innovative and promising ideas in cleantech and that are best positioned to solve tomorrow’s clean technology challenges,” says Cleantech Group, the creator of the annual list.

The list includes several from the US, such as Airbnb, Blue Pillar, and Stem, as well as from Canada, including Axine Water Technologies, Saltworks, and Greenmantra.

The question we are seeking to answer is: According to the world’s cleantech community, which 100 of today’s private cleantech companies are the most likely to make the most significant market impact over the next 5-10 years?

Impossible won Early Stage Company of the Year, while Sonnen was recognized for Continued Excellence. Those on the Ones to Watch list include Bitstew Systems in Canada and Powerhive in the US.

Panelists included Laura Nereng of 3M, Alex Betts of Adaxia Capital, and Tony Van Bommel of BDC.
