Yesterday Google announced that Canadians can now order their new Nexus One smartphone through its online storefront. Previously Google would only ship the multi-touch smartphone to addresses in the US.
Since the Nexus One is unlocked, Canadians will only be able to buy the phone directly from Google and will not be tied to a single telecommunications carrier for service.
A spokeswoman for TELUS said the device would also be compatible with the joint 3G+network the company operates with Bell Mobility. The Nexus One Canada help page explains that the Nexus One is compatible with all three major networks in Canada – Rogers Wireless, Bell Mobility and TELUS.
