Mayor to launch Vancouver Greentech Forum

In response to climate change, there is a rapid global movement towards Greentech – technologies and enterprises that create positive environmental impact. Greentech has tremendous investment potential and this movement is being led by a growing contingent of entrepreneurs, investors, and industry leaders.

There is a strong need to connect Greentech professionals in Vancouver and SFU TIME Ventures Incubator has responded launching the Vancouver Greentech Forum (VGF).

“Greentech has tremendous investment potential,” says Mike Volker, director of Simon Fraser University’s Ventures Incubator. “There is a growing contingent of researchers, entrepreneurs, investors and industry leaders in this area and they need a place to connect. We are establishing the Vancouver Greentech Forum to make that happen.”

Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson will be on hand to officially launch the VGF Forum on Thursday, March 5th from 5:30-7:30pm at SFU’s Segal Graduate School of Business. This inaugural program includes Paul Richardson, president of Renewal2 and presentations by Habitat Enterprises and 3rd Whale.com.

The forums are free, but space is limited so register online today. Future sessions will be on the second Thursday of every month and include speakers, greentech pitches and networking.
