Netflix Adds Video Previews So Users Can Better Decide What They Actually Want to Watch

Netflix is adding video previews to its interface, giving users a new way to decide whether they like a show before committing to a full episode.

The streaming company insists these are not traditional trailers or teasers, but rather “specially designed video synopses that help members make faster and more confident decisions by quickly highlighting the story, characters and tone of a title.”

“This is our latest effort to continually evolve the Internet TV experience to one that provides greater choice, richer imagery, better context, and a more consumer-friendly experience,” says Stephen Garcia, Director of Product Innovation for Netflix.

The new feature begins rolling out globally today.

“As video becomes a bigger part of our lives, it will continue to play an increasing role within Netflix as we enhance the Internet TV experience around the world,” said Chris Jaffe, VP of Product Innovation for Netflix.
