School Sets World Record for Most Humans Dressed as Mobile Phones
A school in the UK broke the world record for most people dressed as mobile phones in one place, the World Records Academy reports.
At Caterham School in Harestone Valley Road, 330 people dresed up as Nokias, BlackBerrys, and iPhones, breaking the Guinness world record of 275, which was staged by Open Mobile and Motorola in Puerto Rico. They also danced in unison, which was not required for the record.
“The committee had to put a lot of effort into this event because so many pupils were away from school on trips or tours. They promoted the event for several weeks to make sure that they had the numbers,” explained assistant headmaster David Clark. “Of course getting the 330 participants to rehearse properly prior to recording the five minutes was also quite a challenge.”
“Some of the mobile phone designs were exceptional and covered the range from the latest smart phones to some very old styles,” he added. “It was great fun and all the pupils deserve credit for making it an enjoyable event.”
