Team of Tech Titans Including Tesla, Apple to Meet with Donald Trump

A small group of well-known tech leaders are meeting with Donald Trump this week. The meeting with the President-elect will take place in Trump Tower in Manhattan, sources cited in Recode suggest.

The list of attendees is short but powerful, and includes Tesla founder Elon Musk, Apple CEO Tim Cook, and Alphabet CEO Larry Page, according to The Wall Street Journal, as well as the CEOs of Cisco, Intel, and Oracle. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, and IBM CEO Ginni Rometty are also likely to attend, it’s been reported.

Some of these figures, such as Bezos, have not been shy about their distaste for Trump, while Trump has attacked companies like Apple for outsourcing manufacturing. The meeting was put together by Trump’s chief of staff, Reince Priebus, and venture capitalist Peter Thiel, who was among Silicon Valley’s only high-profile Trump supporters during the President-elect’s campaign.

Tech stands opposite of Trump on some key issues, including immigration reform and social issues. The results of the meeting, should we find out, will no doubt prove interesting.
